A Night at the Museum

One of my daughters participated in a junior docent program, at the University of Missouri Museum of Art & Archeology,  through her art class at Columbia Independent Schools.  It was an enjoyable evening that we all enjoyed.  I took advantage of the occasion to take some pictures which I am sharing with you.

Dido in Resolve by David Ligare:  This picture is massive and of course the picture does not do it justice.  The skill and technique is breathtaking. It is displayed on the stairwell between the first and second floors.

Contact information for the museum is:

1 Pickard Hall
Columbia, MO 65211-1420
(573) 882-3591

Please go and visit it and otherwise support their efforts.  You will not be disappointed.

It is a shame that many of the students at MU or even Columbia residents don't know about this gem.. I recognize some of the art in there from 10 years ago - and it is amazing how much they can pack into a little place. Thanks for the memories.

It is VERY underutilized. The art there is stunning.
