Screaming Eagles and Col. Charles McGee

On  the third annual  Military Recognition Day hosted by Columbia College the Screaming Eagles (101st Air Assault) parachute demonstration team performed and Tuskegee Airman, Col. Charles McGee appeared.  Col. McGee appeared to award the first granting of a scholarship that bears his name.

Here the ground crew prepares for the upcoming jump.

The parachutist are out of the C-130

A short video of the event:

Here is Col. McGee

Here is a short video of Col. McGee's remarks:

The event was also visited by protesters who strategically stationed themselves behind the podium and made themselves very visible but remained silent.

Suggestion for next year?  Move the flag poles, and hence the ceremony itself,  to the inside of the campus grounds rather than the edge.

This was a great event.
